The night spent in one of the White Thai family. The Thai people are an ethnic minority group originally from southern China and ethnically linked to the Thai in Thailand. We enjoy the warm hospitality over a dinner with the host and an overnight stay in a traditional stilt-house. (Lunch and dinner are included).

Day 2 Dong Bang / Black River

The day begins with a beautiful hike through the tiers of splendid rice terraces and past several idyllic villages. This  followed by an enjoyable bicycle ride around a spectacular area, which features verdant hilllocks, lush farmlands and beautiful mountains. Finally, we descend to the Xom Moi village, located by the Black River and home to the Muong people. Tonight we settle in with a Muong family in a traditional wooden house to experience their way of life. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included).

Day 3 Black River / Hanoi
This morning we take a delightful kayaking ride along this river. Those who relish an energetic hike have one more chance to take a short hike village. Following lunch in a local restaurant, we drive back to Hanoi, arriving there at around 5pm. (Breakfast and lunch are included)

From July to September, the climate is usually humid and hot. From October to June brings cooler and more pleasant weather.

Transport: boat and car.

Tour Guides: all of our experienced and friendly Tour Guides speak excellent English or French. Every Guide is extremely knowledgeable about local cultures, history and the environment.

Accommodation: homestay (2 nights). A clean and comfortable homestay with mosquito nets provided.

Meals: 2 breakfasts, 3 lunches and 2 dinners.

We choose local ingredients, typical of the way people eat in the area, at local restaurants, markets or homes. We cater for Vegetarians but please request this at time of booking.

Trip cost: US$ 239 per person for a group of 2 to 3 people.
US$ 195 per person for a group of 4 to 7 people.

The cost of the trip includes: all accommodation, Tour Guides, meals and all entrance fees and permits where applicable.

The cost of the trip does not include: travel insurance, drinks (soft drinks, alcohol, bottled water) and other personal expenses.

What to take: pack essentials for 3 days away from Hanoi, including light comfortable clothes suitable for outdoor activities, comfortable hiking shoes.
